The Texas Rangers are looking to close out the Detroit Tigers at home in Game 6 of the ALCS behind the bat of outfielder Nelson Cruz, who has a record five home runs in the ALCS and hopes to continue his hot streak and propel the Rangers into the World Series. Cruz hit a walk-off grand slam in Game 2 and a three-run shot in the 11th inning of Game 4.
In a rematch of Game 2 starters, Detroit Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer will get another shot to take down the Rangers and even up the series. "I realize he's a good hitter and he's hot. Given that, you can't fear him. You have to go right after him," Scherzer told the media on Friday. "Even though he's hot, if the situation arises, you might have to be more careful. My game plan, I guarantee you, going forward, will be to be aggressive with him. "
Cruz isn't the only hitter in the Rangers line-up however, as he bats seventh behind the likes of Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, Adrian Beltre, and Mike Napoli. Scherzer will have to maneuver through the Rangers' dangerous lineup if the Tigers hope to keep their World Series dream alive.
