The Rangers' backs are against the wall, down 2-1 at home. They'll throw out Derek Holland to face Edwin Jackson and try to even the series.
Unsurprisingly, the bats woke up when the World Series moved to Texas as the Cardinals battered the Rangers 16-7, with no one more dangerous than Albert Pujols. El Hombre went hitless in the first two games of the Series, but he broke out in Game 3 with the greatest offensive performance in World Series history, going 5 for 6 with three home runs and six RBI.
The Cardinals now lead the Series 2-1, have regained home-field advantage, and have weathered the storm that is a Kyle Lohse start. In Game 4, they will throw out fellow question mark Edwin Jackson against the Rangers' talented, but also inconsistent, lefty Derek Holland. Don't be surprised if Pujols sees a bases-empty intentional walk.
This is nearly a must-win game for the Rangers. After Jackson, Chris Carpenter takes the hill in Game 5, then they go back to St. Louis. The Rangers need a huge performance from Holland, and they need their bullpen to rediscover itself.
