According to Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune, Red Sox GM Theo Epstein was spotted by an eagle-eyed Cubs fan at a Starbucks about a mile and a half from Wrigley Field on Saturday.
This writer lives within a few blocks of the Starbucks mentioned in the Sullivan article. It's out of the way, located in what is primarily a three-story walkup apartment building in a neighborhood that is 99% residential; you kind of have to know it's there. And, it's not anywhere near on the way from O'Hare Airport -- or any hotel, for that matter -- to Wrigley Field; further, the direction noted in the article isn't the way you'd go to get to Wrigley from that location.
Oh, and Saturday was Yom Kippur -- a very unlikely day for Epstein to be traveling, or in a Starbucks anywhere.
Looks like Sullivan's editor told him to write 500 words about the Cubs for Sunday's paper.
