Mark Buehrle is currently a free agent, and while he's going to sign for less money and fewer years than fellow free agent lefty C.J. Wilson, do not take that as an indication that there isn't a lot of interest. Says Jon Heyman:
buehrle a very popular free agent w/ 14 teams in mix. minn, az among surprise entrants, but $14M salary target steep for them
Here's where it gets really interesting. According to Joe Cowley, three teams - two in the National League - have offered Buehrle three-year contracts worth a lot of money. None of those teams, however, have yet included the no-trade clause that Buehrle apparently wants. So there is not yet a deal. But a deal could happen soon, should one of those teams change its mind.
Ken Rosenthal adds more. Rosenthal says that the Nationals, Marlins and Rangers are Buehrle's hottest suitors, so it's possible that those are the three teams to which Cowley refers. He adds that the Marlins have a policy of not handing out no-trade clauses, which is a problem, but until this offseason the Marlins also had a policy of not spending money ever, so things can change.
