According to Tim Britton, Pedro Martinez is pretty much officially retired from baseball.
↵This news gives us an excuse to look at Pedro’s Baseball-Reference page again. Between 1997-2003, Pedro posted five seasons with at least 29 starts and an ERA+ over 200. That is the most in baseball history, beating Walter Johnson’s four and Roger Clemens’ three. Roy Halladay has never had a single such season.
↵Pedro Martinez’s headstone will read Pedro Martinez: Holy Crap.
