A Gentleman and Future All Star

Stay connected for news and updates

During my many years of being a baseball fan I've had the opportunity to see many great players.  I've even had the opportunity to meet some of them in person.  One gentleman in particular is Michael Taylor with the Oakland A's.  I first saw him play for the Phillies Single A Lakewood Blueclaws, and he just stood out among the rest.  I decided to make the trip to see him with the Reading Phillies and it was a great experience.  In between innings he actually looked toward me and my family in the stands, smiled, and waved for a picture.  After the game was over we waited for him outside and asked if he would mind a picture.  He had no problem posing with me and my young daughters, shaking my hand and thanking me for coming out to the ballpark.  With his power, speed, and personality he is as close to a "can't miss" as a ballplayer can be. I wish him the best of luck, and even though he didn't make the A's opening day roster fans everywhere will soon be able to see him display his talents at the Major League level.
