The last time the Indians were in Cleveland, they played in front of a few thousand of their closest friends. If they don't stop winning, though, that will surely change. Monday night, the Indians jumped to an early lead over the Los Angeles Angels, shutting them down and winning 4-0.

Indians starter Mitch Talbot went eight innings, allowing five hits and two walks before Vinnie Pestano pitched a perfect ninth. The shutout was the first for Cleveland since September 29 of last year, a game also started by Talbot.

Tyler Chatwood started for the Angels, filling in for the injured Joel Pineiro, and flashed a 98-mph fastball, but he got in trouble with the long ball early. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a home run to dead center in the first inning, and Matt LaPorta hit a three-run homer in the second to spoil Chatwood's major-league debut.

Those four runs were three more than the Indians would need for their eighth straight win and their longest winning streak since 2008.

The series continues tomorrow with Fausto Carmona going for Cleveland, and Dan Haren for Los Angeles.
