Florida Marlins reliever Clay Hensley hurt himself after slipping and falling on hotel stairs on April 26. The initial diagnosis was a bruised rib, but on Monday an MRI revealed a hairline fracture in his left scapula. From the Miami Herald:
While Hensley said he was told it would take four to six weeks for the fracture to heal completely, it is the bruising and swelling in that region that is keeping him off the mound. He said that, once the swelling subsides, he could still pitch even with the fracture.
Hensley told the Herald that he's expecting to be back within 15 days, barring any setbacks in simulated games or rehab assignments.
The Marlins' bullpen has done a good job of keeping runs off the board this season, even without Hensley. His replacement on the 25-man roster, Burke Badenhop, has thrown 1-2/3 innings, allowing one hit and no runs with two strikeouts.

About a week ago, Marlins reliever Clay Hensley slipped at the team hotel and hurt himself. He didn't hurt himself bad, but he's been dealing with some soreness ever since, and on Saturday the team has decided to play it safe by sending Hensley to the DL.
The Marlins on Saturday have placed setup reliever Clay Hensley on the 15-day disabled list with a left rib contusion, and recalled right-hander Burke Badenhop from Triple-A New Orleans.
Through the early part of the season Hensley hasn't quite pitched like himself, with eight walks and seven strikeouts in 13 innings. But he was an effective member of the Marlins' relief corps a year ago, so the team's still counting on him to make a contribution after he returns.
The 28-year-old Badenhop owns a career 4.43 ERA in the bigs, and has been working out of the AAA New Orleans bullpen. He'll take Hensley's roster spot, while Brian Sanches and/or Ryan Webb will take Hensley's setup role.
