Two teams who play each other on this interleague weekend are trying to get into first place in their divisions. And it's probably not who you would have guessed a couple of months ago. All times Eastern.
↵↵1 p.m., FSN Arizona, FSN Detroit: Diamondbacks at Tigers. Arizona is half a game behind San Francisco. Detroit and Cleveland are tied for first in the AL Central. No, you did not predict this before the season started.
↵↵2 p.m., TBS, YES Network, ROOT Sports: Rockies at Yankees. TBS' national game of choice gets a non-marquee pitching matchup: Juan Nicasio vs. Ivan Nova. The later-than-usual Yankee Stadium starting time is due to New York's traditional Old-Timers Day.
↵↵2 p.m., WGN, MASN: Nationals at White Sox. This is the Nats' last game before they name Davey Johnson manager tomorrow.
↵↵8 p.m., ESPN: Indians at Giants. The other game affecting first place in the NL West and AL Central.
↵↵10 p.m., ROOT Sports Seattle: Mariners at Marlins. This unusual Sunday night start time is because this series, a Marlins home series, is being played in Seattle. Why? Because a rescheduled U2 concert is being held in Dolphin Stadium. It's being played under NL rules; pitchers will bat, and the "visiting" Mariners are permitted to televise the game.
