Tuesday isn't necessarily a great injury news day for the New York Mets, what with Ike Davis' season appearing all but over. On the plus side, though, David Wright is doing well in his rehab, and perhaps more importantly, this, from Gerard Guilfoyle:
#Mets activate Jose Reyes from DL & send Ruben Tejada back down to AAA Buffalo.
Reyes has been away since the beginning of July due to a grade 1 hamstring strain that wasn't initially supposed to be too big of a deal. He went on the DL anyway, though, and has made a complete recovery without any setbacks or complications. So everything's restored, as Reyes returns to a .354/.398/.529 batting line. Ruben Tejada tried his damndest to replace Reyes' production as a stopgap, but, Ruben Tejada.
In theory, this means that Reyes is back and healthy in advance of the trade deadline, making it a possibility that he gets moved. From all indications, though, he's going to stay put where he is.
