MLB Trade Rumors: Phillies, Astros Working Towards Hunter Pence Deal

Stay connected for news and updates

So many updates, with so many things changing, yet so many things staying the same. What do we have for you now? What we have is Jon Heyman reporting that Hunter Pence is "very likely" to get traded before Sunday's deadline.

If Pence does get traded, his most likely destination is Philadelphia, as Ken Rosenthal says that the Phillies are making progress:

Sources: , progressing toward Pence deal.

And finally, Jayson Stark reports that any Pence deal with the Phillies is likely to be a two-team trade, as opposed to the three-team trade that's been rumored as a possibility.

You got that? Pence will probably get traded. If Pence gets traded, he will probably go to the Phillies. There is no guarantee of either, and the Braves continue to sniff around. As per a recent update, a Phillies trade for Pence reportedly will not include Domonic Brown.

It was reported the other day that the Astros turned down a three-player package from the Phillies including Jarred Cosart and Jonathan Singleton. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Astros accept a similar package, with a more interesting third player. They're not going to do better than that unless somebody goes absolutely insane, and people who are absolutely insane generally don't end up in positions of power. In America.
