Here are two bits of necessary background information:
(1) In Sunday's Angels/Tigers game, Justin Verlander has been working on a no-hitter.
(2) After Magglio Ordonez homered off Jered Weaver in the third, Weaver shared some words, as he thought Ordonez watched the ball too long.
All right. Got it? Good. Let's fast-forward to the bottom of the seventh inning. Here's Carlos Guillen hitting another homer off Weaver to make the score 3-0:
There's watching a home run, then there's admiring a home run, then there's pimping a home run, then there's this. Weaver had some more choice words, and umpire Hunter Wendelstedt had to come out to settle him down.
After the incident, Wendelstedt issued warnings. At that point, one figured there probably wouldn't be any more fireworks, and-
No, no, you can't do that. Not on the very next pitch.
Weaver was tossed and continued shouting until finally walking into the clubhouse. This is a tale with too many villains, I'm afraid.
