The Damondbacks defeated the Giants on Tuesday night, leading to a tie atop the NL West heading into Game 3 of the series on Wednesday afternoon.
The Arizona Diamondbacks moved into a tie with the San Francisco Giants with a 6-1 victory on Tuesday night over their National League West rivals. It puts the two teams in a dead heat for the division's playoff spot heading into the stretch run.
The Diamondbacks are well aware of the fact, too, especially considering the recent success over their Bay Area rivals wasn't exactly to be suspected after previously losing 17 of their last 21 outing at AT&T Park.
"It's a lot of fun, but we all know we have a long way to go," Tuesday night's starting pitcher, Daniel Hudson, told MLB.com. "Our ultimate goal is to get into October, and we've got to come through San Francisco to get there. We've got a long way to go and we've got a lot of games left against these guys and our division, so we're going to take the good with the bad and go to work every day."
The Giants and Diamondbacks square off again on Wednesday afternoon as both team's look to take the lead in the NL West after their first series during the dog days of August.
