Sergio Romo's strikeout-to-walk ratio this season is 13: 52 strikeouts, 4 walks.
Of course it was pretty good last season, too: 5-to-1. And his 4.36 career mark entering this season was excellent.
But 13-to-1 is off the charts. Among pitchers with at least 50 innings in a season, only Dennis Eckersley has ever topped that ... and he a) did it twice, and b) blew past 13, with consecutive 18-to-1 ratios in 1989 and '90.
It should be mentioned that Romo's pitched only 36 innings this season. And that just last year, Edward Mujica posted a 12-to-1 ratio. Still.
