Jose Reyes Injury: Mets Shortstop Leaves Game With Stiff Left Hamstring

Jose Reyes is hurt again: The Mets shortstop leaves a divisional showdown with a stiff left hamstring.

Jose Reyes' 2011 season has looked like a career year at more than one point. But the oft-injured Mets shortstop has looked brittle on more than one occasion, too, including this Sunday's game against the Braves: Reyes has left the game with a stiff left hamstring, the Mets announced.

Reyes was removed from the game for shortstop Willie Harris in the bottom of the second and did not go to the bench, indicating a likely medical issue, according to the New York Post's Kevin Kernan. (Harris, hitting for Reyes, knocked an RBI single to center to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.)

Reyes has been injured before, both this year and in his career. Tightness in his left hamstring forced Reyes to the 15-day disabled list in July, and a right hamstring injury during rehabilitation from a calf injury ended Reyes' 2009 season.
