I am Jack's painful drought

Stay connected for news and updates

Jack Wilson officially retired last week, deciding not to scrap for another job after he was removed from the Braves' roster. That means he played 1,370 regular-season games with nary a postseason appearance.

That wasn't the active record, though. Adam Dunn holds that mark, with 1,719 regular-season games without a postseason berth. He's likely to add to that mark this season and next, unless the White Sox can win three straight and get a lot of help from the Royals.

One last note on that list: Joe Torre is sixth all-time. Sometimes, when the universe makes things up to you, it doesn't always pretend to be subtle.
