The Triple Jester's Crown

Stay connected for news and updates

All this batting average, home run and RBI hullabaloo got me wondering. Are any pitchers in contention for allowing the Triple Jester's Crown? This is a thing I just made up probably 10 minutes ago, but here's hoping it sticks.

All stats are entering tonight's games:

American League

Batting average against
Rick Porcello, .313
Henderson Alvarez, .290
Ivan Nova, .288
Ricky Romero, .282
Luke Hochevar, .281

Home runs allowed
Ervin Santana, 39
Phil Hughes, 35
Jason Vargas, 35
Tommy Hunter, 32
Derek Holland, 32

Runs pitched in
Luke Hochevar, 127
Ricky Romero, 122
Justin Masterson, 121
Ubaldo Jimenez, 116
Jon Lester, 116

National League

Batting average against
Mike Leake, .287
Ricky Nolasco, .285
Jake Westbrook, .282
Joe Blanton, .273
Tommy Hanson, .269

Home runs allowed
Joe Blanton, 29
Clayton Richard, 28
Ian Kennedy, 28
6 pitchers tied, 26

Runs pitched in
Tim Lincecum, 111
Joe Blanton, 106
Clayton Richard, 105
Ricky Nolasco, 100
Ian Kennedy, 99

By the way, that .313 average allowed by Porcello is not nearly the highest one I've found in recent history.
