The Baltimore Orioles and manager Buck Showalter have released their lineup for Wednesday night's Game 3 of their ALDS matchup with the New York Yankees (* indicates left-handed hitter, # indicates switch-hitter):
Nate McLouth, LF *
J.J. Hardy, SS
Chris Davis, RF *
Adam Jones, CF
Matt Wieters, C #
Jim Thome, DH *
Mark Reynolds, 1B
Ryan Flaherty, 2B *
Manny Machado, 3B
The only change from Monday's Game 2 lineup is Ryan Flaherty playing second base instead of Robert Andino; Manny Machado drops from eighth to ninth in the lineup. Flaherty has never faced tonight's New York starter, Hiroki Kuroda; Andino was 0-for-2 against him, so Showalter is likely playing a hunch rather than matchups.
Overall, current Orioles are hitting .214 (22-for-105) against Kuroda, who last faced the Orioles August 31 at Yankee Stadium, so they'll have their work cut out for them; meanwhile, rookie Miguel Gonzalez will take the mound for Baltimore. Gonzalez started that August 31 game as well, and shut out the Yankees for seven innings.
