The Nationals will send Ross Detwiler to the mound in the hopes of keeping their season alive, while the Cardinals counter with Kyle Lohse. Lohse earned the win in the Cardinals' wild card game with the Atlanta Braves, pitching 5⅔ innings while striking out six.
