The Baltimore Orioles must win Thursday evening at Yankee Stadium or go home for the winter; it'll be emotionally tougher after they suffered their first extra-inning loss since April (also in the Bronx).
Manager Buck Showalter has posted the same lineup he used in Game 3 (* indicates left-handed hitter):
Nate McLouth, LF *
J.J. Hardy, SS
Chris Davis, RF *
Adam Jones, CF
Matt Wieters, C
Jim Thome, DH *
Mark Reynolds, 1B
Ryan Flaherty, 2B *
Manny Machado, 3B
They'll be facing Phil Hughes; current Orioles are hitting .257 (56-for-218) with 10 home runs against Hughes. He should be a familiar face to Baltimore hitters; Hughes made four starts against the O's during the regular season, throwing 22⅔ innings with a 4.76 ERA. The teams split the four games, the most recent of which was September 7 in Baltimore, a game the Yankees won 8-5. Baltimore's Adam Jones homered off Hughes that night.
Joe Saunders will take the mound for Baltimore.
