Detroit Tigers vs. New York Yankees, 2012 ALCS Game 1

The Tigers and Yankees, a year after facing off in the ALDS, will meet on Saturday to start the 2012 American League Championship Series. Both are coming off thrilling ALDS victories, dispatching their opponents in five games. Andy Pettitte looks to continue his long and storied post-season pitching career as he takes the hill for the Yankees, while Doug Fister will make the start for the Tigers. Fister pitched wonderfully in his Game 2 victory over the Oakland Athletics in the ALDS, tossing seven innings and striking out eight. Pettitte started Game 2 for the Yankees against the Baltimore Orioles in their ALDS matchup, going seven innings, striking out five and giving up three runs.
