The St. Louis Cardinals, fueled by their late comeback against the Washington Nationals, are now 3/1 favorites to win the 2012 World Series.
The St. Louis Cardinals are now the favorite to win the 2012 World Series, according to the latest odds from Bovada.com. The site is giving 3/1 odds that the 2011 World Series champions repeat. Odds on a victory by their National League Championship opponents, The San Francisco Giants, are 11/4. In the American League, the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees are being given the same odds on taking it all, 5/2.
The Game 5 comeback by the Cardinals has given their hopes quite a boost. The Daily News reported that the Cards were getting 9/1 odds on a victory a week ago, when the Yankees were 4/1 favorites for a World Series win.
Odds for the Game 1 ALCS matchup between the Tigers and Yankees, Bovada is favoring the Yankees by 1½ runs. Doug Fister will be on the mound for Detroit, facing off with Andy Pettitte for New York.
