San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals NLCS Game 5

Friday Oct 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX

Probable pitchers: Barry Zito vs. Lance Lynn

The Cardinals have a 3-1 lead and all the confidence in the world after last night's blowout win over the Giants. They will send Lance Lynn to the mound in attempt to close out the series and avoid continuing the series in San Francisco. Lynn has pitched mostly out of the bullpen this postseason, but he did start Game 1 of the NLCS.

Giants fans are likely not overly enthused about the idea of Barry Zito being the team's last line of defense. Zito started Game 4 of the NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds, but was ineffective. He walked four, gave up four hits and did not escape the third inning.

Giants fans can perhaps draw hope from that NLDS performance, though. After being humiliated by the Reds in Game 2, they were able to win three in a row to advance to the Championship Series. Perhaps Hunter Pence has yet another rousing rallying cry in him.

Joe Buck will have the play-by-play for the game, with long-time partner Tim McCarver providing the color commentary.
