Every year, the coaches and managers around baseball get to vote on the Best Hitters in Baseball who Avoid Swallowing Their Glove Award, known informally as the Gold Gloves. And for the last two years, baseball has released a list of finalists, with the actual awards being presented during a televised broadcast. After the Giants' defenders spent the World Series making Joe Buck and Tim McCarver act like Meg Ryan in a coffee shop, they were shut out from any semi-finalist spots.
The most-amusing-nominee award is a toss-up between Ian Desmond and Ryan Braun. Braun only had a shot when Raul Ibañez switched leagues, I guess.
