In the first-ever National League Wild Card play-in game, the St. Louis Cardinals face the Atlanta Braves. The winner gets to face the Washington Nationals in the NLDS.

After six months and 162 games, it all comes down to one contest for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves. The Braves finished the season 94-68, four games behind the Washington Nationals in the NL East. The defending World Series champion Cardinals finished 88-74, nine games behind the Cincinnati Reds in the National League Central. The winner of the Wild Card play-in game will face the Washington Nationals in the NLDS.
