I wish this was the common perception of Babe Ruth's appearance, and not the fuller-figured Babe of later years. This is the real Babe Ruth; the one that turned the game on its head in the 1919 to 1921 period. Of course, Ruth was both of those things, but the athletic Ruth always gets short shrift in the collective memory bank.
