The infielder will get $1.7 million in 2013 with a team option for 2014.

The Baltimore Orioles agreed to sign infielder Alexi Casilla, outfielder Steve Pearce and catcher Taylor Teagarden to one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration. The club made the announcement Friday.

Casilla will get $1.7 million next season, with a salary increase from $1,382,500 in 2012, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. He was picked up off waivers by the Orioles on November 2nd from the Minnesota Twins.

The 28-year-old native of the Dominican Republic agreed with the Orioles to a team option for 2014 that will pay him $3 million if picked up, and $200,000 if the club decides to use its buyout rights.

Pearce played for 28 games for the Orioles in 2012, with a .254 batting average, with four doubles, four home runs and 14 RBI. He also spent time with the Astros and Yankees last season. Teagarden hit .158 for the Orioles in 22 games, wit three doubles, two homers and nine RBI.

The Orioles also acquired infielder Yamaico Navarro from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for minor league righty Jhondaniel Medina. Navarro batted .279 with nine homers and 35 RBI in 66 games with Triple-A Indianapolis and appeared with the Pirates in 29 games. Medina was 1-3 with a 4.14 ERA in 11 games in rookie league.

Navarro is now on the 40-man roster in substitution of righty Stu Pomeranz, who was designated for assignment.
