Senator Connie Mack? Not yet, anyway.

The best thing about Connie Mack IV is that he's been a staunch defender of WikiLeaks.

The second-best thing about Connie Mack IV is that his great-grandfather is the first Connie Mack.

The third-best thing is ... well, you got me on that one. If you're a big fan of Hooters, there's this.

Which I mention only because Connie Mack IV was running for the U.S. Senate, and lost to incumbent Bill Nelson (D). Don't worry too much for Mack, though; he's certainly young enough (47) to run again someday.

Of course, Connie's real name is Cornelius McGillicuddy, just like his father -- who once held the same Senate seat that IV failed to capture Tuesday -- and his father's father and his father's father's father. I sorta wish one of these guys would have stuck with Cornelius McGillicuddy, but I suppose tradition has simply been too powerful.

Bonus Facts: Yes, there is a Cornelius McGillicuddy V (b. 2002, which means he'll either be a baseball manager or a U.S. Congressman in roughly 2032). And Connie V's stepmother is Mary Bono, widow of Sonny Bono, one-time husband of Cher, co-singer of "I Got You Babe".

Update, 7:26 a.m.: Previous version said Mack also ran for his U.S. House seat, in Florida's 14th District; he didn't.
