The Colorado Rockies want him to stay with the club as hitting coach, but the veteran is not retired yet.

It's true Jason Giambi was considered as a candidate for Colorado Rockies manager. But his agent says that, after losing out on his bid, he still wants to play.

Giambi has received interest from several teams and is not retired, agent Joel Wolfe told Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. The 41-year-old California native is "considering his options."

The Rockies were impressed with Giambi's interview for the managerial position, which ultimately went to former shortstop Walt Weiss. The team's only concern with Giambi would be that he is too close to the players after spending three years in the clubhouse as one of them.

Giambi said he would retire only to become manager, but Colorado has hopes he will consider the hitting coach position, according to a report by Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post. That's an offer he has on the table while he hears what other organizations have in store for him as a player.
