Remember that scene in The Sandlot where Scotty swipes the Babe Ruth-signed ball from his step-father so it can be used in game conditions? I'm not saying that's what happened to this ball (which is not only signed by Ruth, but by 11 of his fellow inaugural 1933 All-Stars as well), but it does kind of look that way, doesn't it? And no, balls don't necessarily have to color that way as they age, as this virtuous-looking 1928 Yankees ball illustrates.
