Over at Baseball Prospectus, Aaron Gleeman's penned a really comprehensive look at the trade that sent Johan Santana to the Mets, with a quartet of prospects going to the Twins.
No excerpt here; RTFA if you want the good stuff. But the two lessons I took were:
1. If you're trading a great player for prospects, you need to get at least one great prospect in return; and
2. Spending $137.5 million on a pitcher is sorta risky.
