The Mariners' season is (almost) 22 days old. Tonight they're playing their 15th game. And one of their players has been on the 25-man roster through it all, and has somehow not yet seen any Big Boy League action.
↵Maybe tonight's the night, though. Right-handed relief pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma, described by manager Eric Wedge as the Mariners' "long man", should be preparing himself at this very moment to make his Major League Baseball debut, as the M's are down 6-0 in the third inning and the bullpen's already been engaged.
↵C'mon, Wedgie. Make this happen.
↵Update: It happened. Two Three Four shutout innings, of course.*
* Not including Adam Dunn's laser beam into the right-field stands, but that happened so fast it might not have happened.
