The Cardinals will add a big bat to their already-potent lineup.
The St. Louis Cardinals have suffered several key injuries this season; they lost ace Chris Carpenter at the beginning of spring training and he hasn't pitched at all, and Lance Berkman went down with a calf injury in the season's first week and has played in just seven games this season.
Hasn't mattered. The Cardinals are 20-13 entering Sunday's action and lead the NL Central by 3½ games.
They're getting Berkman back today, too:

Berkman was off to a good start in the seven games he played before the injury, going 8-for-23 with two doubles, a triple, two RBI and six walks. He'll be in the Cardinals' starting lineup Sunday against the Braves, hitting fifth.
