Yet another pitcher has gone down with an apparent injury; this time, it's a member of the Phillies.

2012 is not a good year for pitchers. Seems as if we have a pitcher go down, or miss time, nearly every day.

The Philadelphia Phillies' Vance Worley, who was off to a good start with a 3.07 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in seven starts, was scheduled to start for the Phillies Wednesday night in Chicago against the Cubs. Now, that won't happen:

There isn't any further information on what kind of soreness (elbow, shoulder, bicep, could be just about any part of the arm), nor what the Phillies will do for a starter in Worley's place. But it is yet more bad news for a struggling team that is still under .500 at 18-19, even after an extra-inning win over the Astros on Tuesday.
