The Padres are changing a lot of players on their roster. Buy a scorecard!
The San Diego Padres are busy people today! The paperwork alone must be saving several jobs in the Padres' front office. This is good for employment, among other things.
After designating Orlando Hudson for assignment, they made a flurry of roster moves, beginning with starting shortstop Jason Bartlett:
#Padres request release waivers on INF O. Hudson, place INF Bartlett on DL (strain right knee) & recall INF Everth Cabrera & Alexi Amarista

So that's Cabrera and Amarista replacing Hudson and Bartlett. Got it. But wait! There's more!
In addition, #Padres have claimed LHP Eric Stults off waivers from @WhiteSox & will make corresponding move when he reports

The old line uttered by many vendors: "You can't tell the players without a scorecard!" could literally be true Thursday night if you go to Petco Park for the Padres/Dodgers game, although the players do wear their names on their backs. That should make it easier. More jobs saved, too: the people who sew the names and numbers on the jerseys have full employment today.
