Pablo Sandoval might be out for an extended period of time with an injury in his left hand.

Wednesday night in the sixth inning, Pablo Sandoval hit a chopper to the right side of the infield and winced in pain as he ran down the line. According to CSN Bay Area's post-game telecast, Sandoval left the game with a brace on his left hand.

Last year, Pablo Sandoval went on the disabled list with a broken hamate bone in his right hand that required surgery, sidelining him for almost two months. The early speculation is the new injury is with the hamate bone in his left hand, but that isn't confirmed yet. From Alex Pavlovic:

Third baseman Pablo Sandoval exited with a left hand injury in the seventh inning of a 3-2 loss at AT&T Park. Manager Bruce Bochy said the Giants and Sandoval had "quite a bit" of concern.

If Sandoval does go on the DL, the Giants will likely call up third baseman Conor Gillaspie, who is already on the 40-man roster and is hitting .356/.414/.489 with Triple-A Fresno.
