The A's are shuffling around several roster spots on their day off; some of them won't happen for another day or so.
Righthander Tyson Ross was one of the Athletics' better pitching prospects, and with some good appearances late in 2011, he was given every chance to succeed with the A's in 2012.
It's not working out. Ross was hit hard in his last two starts and he's issued nine walks in his last 15⅓ innings.
And so, this happened Thursday:
The #Athletics optioned right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross to Triple-A Sacramento.

No corresponding roster move has yet been announced, and the A's have Thursday off. However, here's what some are expecting to happen:
#Athletics RHP Tyson Ross optioned to minors. OF Yoenis Cespedes likely to be activated from DL on Friday, RHP B. McCarthy back on Saturday.

There will then have to be a further roster move to make room for Brandon McCarthy. Just in case you were wondering, no Manny Ramirezes have been harmed in the making of this post.
