Chipper Jones must be a fast healer.
On May 18, he suffered a leg contusion in a game against the Tampa Bay Rays when he was hit by a batted ball. He pinch-hit once after that, then was placed on the DL and had to have fluid drained from his leg on May 27, just two weeks ago.
On Sunday, he’ll return:
Chipper Jones has been activated from the disabled list and Jose Constanza has been optioned to Gwinnett.

Jones is 40, but has been productive on the field when active this year. He’s hitting .307/.377/.485 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 101 at-bats, numbers that many younger players would love to have after that many times at the plate. Jones has already announced he’ll retire at the end of this season, and he’s on the way to going out with a good year.
