Plans, Laid Best

Stay connected for news and updates

Tuesday afternoon, Jim Tracy announced that he would deploy a four-man rotation, with each of the four men limited to around 75 pitches in their starts.

So far, part of that plan is working. Tuesday night, Josh Outman was removed after throwing 72 pitches. Wednesday night, Alex White was pulled after 75 pitches.

The other part -- the part where the starters actually pitch effectively -- isn't going so well. Outman got knocked out in the fifth inning, White in the fourth.
