Almost eight years ago, Australian left-hander Travis Blackley made his major-league debut. He didn't pitch all that well, but he lasted long enough and his team (the Mariners) scored enough runs that he got the win.
↵Blackley didn't win again in the majors until last Friday, when he pitched six decent innings to beat the Padres.
↵Thursday afternoon he didn't win. He did hold the Dodgers to one run in eight innings, in what's easily the highlight of his long, injury-plagued career.
