Drew Stubbs Rejoins Reds

Stay connected for news and updates
Drew Stubbs was having something of a down year, with an on-base percentage hovering around the .300 mark, when he went on the DL with an oblique strain. He went on the DL on June 15, but it was retroactive to June 6. Fewer than three weeks later, he's back. From the Associated Press:
The Reds activated center fielder Drew Stubbs from the disabled list before the opening game of a series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, restoring their everyday lineup to full strength.

Stubbs went on the DL June 15 after pulling muscles in his left side during a swing. He played a three-game rehab stint at Class-A Dayton over the weekend without problem.
Stubbs hit .235/.300/.373 over 204 at-bats this season, and he was one for 10 in his rehab appearances. Chris Heisey played most of the innings in center while Stubbs was gone, and he'll return to being the platoon left-fielder (of sorts) with Ryan Ludwick.
