Through seven innings, Bronson Arroyo has held the Milwaukee Brewers without a hit. Is this going to happen? With Bronson Arroyo?

Monday night, the Brewers lost to the Reds 3-1, and Mat Latos threw a complete-game four-hitter. He struck out 13 batters, and the Brewers looked feeble against him. Tuesday night, the Brewers are looking feebler still.

Through seven innings against Bronson Arroyo, the Brewers have been held hitless. Only Ryan Braun has reached base, as he was hit by a pitch in the first inning. Arroyo has generated three strikeouts, and he's thrown 82 pitches.

A three-run homer by Jay Bruce in the sixth provided Arroyo with all of his run support, as previous to that it was a scoreless game. The biggest threats to the hitlessness were a swinging bunt by Cesar Izturis in the top of the sixth, and a line drive to second by Braun in the seventh. The Brewers have not made a lot of quality contact, obviously.

Arroyo threw a complete-game two-hitter against the Nationals in August 2009. He's now pursuing some history, armed with a pile of slop.
