The Colorado Rockies placed Juan Nicasio on the 15-day disabled list and brought up Gillermo Moscoso from the minors.
Juan Nicasio suffered an injury to his left knee that will land him on the 15-day disabled list, the Rockies announced on Sunday. Colorado's starting pitcher left his Saturday outing in the second inning after straining his knee on Elian Herrera's two-out, two-run single to center field.
Jim Tracy and the training staff decided to take Nicasio out of the game, and he limped off the field after surrendering three runs on four hits in 1.2 innings.
Nicasio is 2-3 with a 5.28 ERA this season. He had struggled in May, a month in which he didn't win a game in five starts.
The Rockies have recalled RHP Guillermo Moscoso to take his spot. Moscaso made two starts for the big league club in late April, and went 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA. Because of Nicasio's left knee, he gets another shot to turn his cup of coffee into a bottomless refill mug.
