Wednesday, Robert W. Creamer died. He had recently turned 90.

Creamer worked at Sports Illustrated for decades, and also gave us two brilliant baseball biographies, classic works on Babe Ruth and Casey Stengel. I know people who knew Creamer, and from everything I've heard he was a truly splendid man.
