Braves Sign Miguel Batista

Remember Thursday? Why, that was just yesterday! You probably even remember what you had for lunch.

Yesterday, I wrote in this very StoryStream that Miguel Batista’s career was likely over with his release by the Mets.

Wrong! According to David Lennon, Batista’s career goes on:

Looks like the Miguel Batista Revenge Tour will begin in Atlanta. Said this morning he’s headed to #Braves. #Mets

The Braves will be Batista’s 11th team. He’s 41 and not likely to pitch beyond this season, but he could help the Braves out both in the bullpen and as a spot starter; he’s started five games for the Mets this year, as well as having made 25 relief appearances for them.

So the streak continues — there’s still one active player who was on the last Pittsburgh Pirates team with a winning record. After the 2012 season is over, there should be quite a few more.
