St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is having another fine season; hitting .304/.357/.500 with a career-best 131 OPS+, Molina is headed to Kansas City Monday for his fourth consecutive All-Star Game appearance.
Before that, though, he's headed somewhere else:

There's no word on why Molina is being placed on the bereavement list; a player on the list must miss at least three games, so Molina will be out for the entire Cardinals weekend series at home against the Marlins.
Bryan Anderson, a fourth-round pick of the Cardinals in the 2005 draft, last played in the major leagues for them in 2010; this year, he's hitting just .210/.295/.272 for Triple-A Memphis. Tony Cruz, the only other catcher on St. Louis' 25-man roster, is hitting .196/.196/.304 in 56 plate appearances, so the Cardinals will be hurting a bit until Molina returns.
