The Giants have been without All-Star third baseman Pablo Sandoval since he injured his hamstring stretching out for a throw at first on July 24. Newly acquired Marco Scutaro took the bulk of the at-bats at third, but Sandoval is off the disabled list as of Monday:

There hasn't been a corresponding move yet, as the Giants are still figuring out if they want to stay with a 13-man pitching staff for some reason. If they do decide to cut a pitcher, Brad Penny might be the likeliest target, with an outside chance of George Kontos being sent down because he still has options. If it's a hitter, both Joaquin Arias and Brett Pill would be on the bubble.
Sandoval hurt himself playing first, and for now he's going to be limited to third base, though manager Bruce Bochy did indicate that Sandoval could play more first in the future.
