The Houston Astros announced Saturday night that manager Brad Mills has been fired, along with two other coaches.

The Houston Astros have fired manager Brad Mills, with hitting coach Mike Barnett and first base coach Bobby Meacham also being relieved of their duties, according to Zachary Levine of the Houston Chronicle.

Mills was hired by the Astros prior to the 2010 season and finished with the worst record in baseball in 2011. The Astros currently hold the worst record in the MLB at 39-82 and have won just four of their past 16 games after losing 12-4 on Saturday night to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The loss included a fifth inning meltdown in which the Astros allowed nine runs.

The Astros are in the middle of a massive rebuild under new owner Jim Crane and new GM Jeff Luhnow, with speculation coming last month that Mills would be replaced at the end of the season. The past four managers for the Astros have all been replaced midseason.
