Félix Hernández probably wasn't going to throw another no-hitter.
But Hernández had a great shot at John Montague's franchise record for consecutive batters retired: 33.
After all, entering Tuesday night's start against the Indians, he'd retired 32 straight.
Records are hard, though. Hernández gave up a ground-ball single to the first batter he faced, Jason Kipnis. And so Montague's record, set over the course of three relief outings in 1977, is safe once more.
