Rockies Reinstate Carlos Gonzalez From Bereavement List

Stay connected for news and updates

Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez suffered a death in his family over this past weekend, and the team placed him on the bereavement list; a player can spend a maximum of seven days on that list.

Four days later, he’s back:

The Rockies have had a difficult season, but it’s not Gonzalez’s fault; he’s having another spectacularly good year, hitting .320/.389/.542 with 20 home runs, 79 RBI and 16 stolen bases. Oddly enough, the Rockies have gone on a baby winning streak since he’s been out, winning three of the four games he’s missed.

Moscoso, on the other hand, could probably be blamed for a lot of Colorado’s troubles; he’s made 13 appearances (three starts) and has a ghastly 7.53 ERA and 1.817 WHIP. The Rockies hoped for better from him when they acquired him from the A’s last offseason; he’d had a good year for Oakland.
